stay the night: the lincolnville motel

as a child, maine was always a special place for me. my family would spend summers cracking lobsters, picking blueberries and wandering rocky beaches, and i grew up with a love for small coastal towns and a good cup of chowdah. maine’s slogan couldn’t be more true than at the lincolnville motel, a 6 cabin/4 room property in the heart of the state’s charming midcoast - it is truly the way life should be.

this quaint getaway is much more than a side of the road stop. although it has held onto some retro 1950’s roadside inn vibes, it has a clean, crisp look with some fun quirks, like rainbow organized books in a communal library and a very cool globe collection (plus, light up globes in the rooms!) if you’re visiting in the summer, you can grab a complimentary freeze pop and hang on an inflatable swan in the pool. a dream!

inside the cabin, open up the slider and enjoy those fresh maine breezes while listening to records on your own personal Crosley turntable. surrounded by cool white shiplap (and maybe a beer in hand, there are cute mini fridges!), it’s hard to imagine a more ideal scenario.

if you do decide to leave your lincolnville oasis, explore camden, just a short drive away, and hit up rhumb line for a seriously good seafood situation. or, get your national park on - we stayed on our way back down from acadia, about an hour and a half north.
